I remember the moment I realized that my podcast was more than just a creative outlet. It was the heart of my business. Back in 2025, I was juggling everything. Instagram posts, reels, pick-your-brain calls, livestreams, newsletters, and trying to show up everywhere online. I was exhausted, but I kept telling myself that being omnipresent was the key to success. Then I looked at the numbers and realized something important. My podcast episodes and Eventbrite livestreams were the only things actually driving meaningful engagement and growth. Everything else felt like noise.

That was the moment I knew I needed a pivot. I needed a strategy that worked, not just activity for activity’s sake. For 2026, my focus is clear. I am building systems, delegating tasks, and leveraging the tools and platforms that truly move the needle.

Self-Reflection and Learning from 2025

Reflecting on my 2025 experience was eye-opening. I learned that self-reflection is not optional for entrepreneurs, especially when balancing work, personal life, and the uncertainty of building something from scratch. Some things worked beautifully, like my podcast episodes and livestream events through Eventbrite. Other platforms, including Instagram and other social media channels, were not converting followers into subscribers.

The lessons were simple but powerful. Focus on what works. Stop spending time on what does not. And always ask the question: does this activity support my business goals or my ego?

Pivoting to Pinterest and Smarter Distribution

One of the biggest changes I am making in 2026 is pivoting my podcast distribution strategy. While social media platforms were not generating meaningful results, Pinterest became a hidden gem. I discovered that Pinterest was driving 5,000 impressions and engagement rates 62 times higher than any other platform I used. That was huge.

For me, Pinterest is now a key tool to grow my audience and drive podcast downloads. I am creating call-to-action pins that lead listeners directly to Apple Podcasts or Spotify. It is a more focused, strategic way to grow my business without spreading myself too thin. At the same time, I am reducing my presence on Instagram. Instagram is still part of my personal brand, but it is no longer the engine of growth for my business.

Focusing on Revenue and Subscribers

In addition to shifting distribution, I am also changing the way I monetize my business. In 2025, I offered random pick-your-brain calls that were enjoyable but not scalable. For 2026, I am transforming those calls into subscriber-only office hours. People who want my guidance will need to subscribe through my email newsletter, livestreams, social media, or podcast. This approach allows me to focus on converting engaged subscribers into paying customers, rather than chasing vanity metrics like followers and likes.

Podcast sponsorships are also a major part of my 2026 strategy. My podcast is no longer just a passion project. It is a business engine, and I am actively seeking sponsorship opportunities that align with my audience and brand.

One of the most important shifts I am making this year is in mindset. I am no longer seeing myself as just a content creator. I am the CEO of a podcast business. This means implementing better systems, creating workflows, and delegating tasks to my three-person team. It also means knowing what to stop doing instead of constantly adding more tasks to my plate.

Delegation is not always easy. Letting go of control can feel scary. But I know that focusing on strategy and business growth is the best way to ensure that my podcast thrives and continues to generate revenue.

Looking Ahead

My goal for 2026 is to work smarter, not harder. I am focusing on the activities that drive results: growing my podcast audience through Pinterest, converting subscribers into paying customers, hosting monthly livestreams, and implementing systems that allow me to delegate effectively.

For anyone building a business or a podcast while juggling life, I hope my journey offers insight and inspiration. Reflect on what is working, stop doing what is not, and invest your energy into the strategies and platforms that move the needle. By focusing on the right things, it is possible to scale your business without burning out.

I am excited to continue sharing my wins and my challenges along the way. If you are building a business, growing a podcast, or trying to turn your passion into profit, I encourage you to subscribe, join my email list, and follow along on this journey.
